Overview

Zebra Technologies is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Solutions / Product Specialist to join our Location Solutions business and to  work primarily with our customer,  a major automotive manufacturer and household name brand.   Collaborating with them to understand some of their key challenges relating to material flow and production, and on the creation and design of new solutions, applications and products which meet these challenges.  Working on locationing, RTLS (real time location systems) Internet of Things (IoT), on premise and cloud-based solutions which address complex manufacturing problems, you will demonstrate a flexible, hard working and 'can-do' attitude as well as a real passion for technology.   The ability and desire to operate in a fast paced and demanding customer environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines is key but we can teach our technology and solutions to keen learners.   You should be comfortable wearing many hats and working directly with end customers face to face. You will be part of a collaborative and talented product team located remotely, requiring you to be self-sufficient and automonous whilst being a great team player at the same time. 

This role requires the skill to create innovative vertical market solutions and products in conjunction with technical experts at Zebra, as well as manage updates and customer driven changes to existing products that allow our customers to turn the physical world into the digital.  As a key leader in the Location Solutions division of Zebra, this role is responsible for several strategically important product lines in Real-time Location System (RTLS) and our vertical market software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product roadmap/portfolio and account development / management strategies including management of the complete product lifecycle for software components to drive RTLS solutions
  • Drive new feature/function creation / launch
  • Establish, implement and manage effective go-to-market strategies including competitive analysis, value proposition, differentiation and pricing
  • Collaborate with cross functional, multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed and matrixed teams including Marketing & Sales, HW / SW Engineering, Finance, Legal, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Manufacturing (ODM / JDM models), Professional Services, IT and Regulatory as well as end-customers to define project scope, priorities and timelines
  • Take features and functions from concept to technical spec, and ultimately see projects through implementation using proven requirements and portfolio management processes and tools
  • Support Business Development and Sales with pre-sales opportunities and build customer relationships to enable successful pilots and post sales experiences
  • Create and manage documentation such as software release notes and training documentation
  • Ignite excitement and motivation while driving a clear focus around priorities for the development team

Qualifications

  • Ideally a Bachelor's Degree in business or engineering (MBA preferred)
  • Experience in a product management or technical position preferably in the automotive industry although this isn't essential
  • Management or coordination experience, including direction of projects and engineers in high and low volume production environments
  • Excellent communicator and team player
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Familiar with agile integration/deployment and test driven development
  • Balance and prioritize a variety of requirements, product roadmaps and timelines and competitive landscape
  • Deliver against the solutions roadmap by partnering with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites (both in and out of country) for information gathering, training and deployment support
