Overview

We're looking for a talented Sales Engineer to join us in a role working alongside Account Managers and playing a key part in developing and driving the technology strategy and solutions for assigned accounts or partners.  Working with our engineering resources, you will provide technical expertise on a wide range of products and support the integration within the customer's technical environment

Responsibilities

    • Working with named accounts and partners primarily within retail although this can include manufacturing, T&L and other verticals.  Focus on a range of defined products and solutions
    • Responsible for representing the technical elements of solutions to customers with the ability to initiate, build and maintain solid working relationships
    • Promotion of solutions encompassing a wide range of products or services and technologies and leverages relationships with other business units and/or external partners to deliver solution
    • Involvement in both technical and commercial presentations on Zebra products and services and then uses these technologies in the customer business environment
    • Closely involved in the technical relationship with selected channel partners across UK&I
    • Close working with Account Managers to ensure overall customer strategy is maintained
    • Supporting the preparation of technical responses to bid proposals
    • Supporting the coordination of all technical sales activities related to perspective accounts
    • Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects
    • Liaise with customers and be a focal point for information, providing technical consultancy
    • Consolidate and distribute key Zebra Product messages
    • Supply technical support to commercial shows and seminars
    • Transfer industry, technical, and product knowledge to customers and partners
    • Drive the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities
    • Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team, and/or Solutions Team
    • Proactively plan to prevent post sales issues that shorten time to revenue
    • Yield maximum product and services revenue from each account while driving customer satisfaction
    • Be the VoC (voice of the customer) to the product development teams
    • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Regional or EMEA management

Qualifications

    • Excellent relationship building skills, with ability to develop a strong business network
    • Ability to logically plan, set priorities, identify and resolve problems to produce measurable results
    • Proficient in analysing market trends and recognising business opportunities
    • In-depth knowledge and strong operating experience in at least one of the following areas of specialization: Mobile Computing, Advance Data Capture or RFID Technologies, wired and wireless networking technologies (includes routing and routed protocols and RF WLAN technologies)
    • Android development knowledge would be a great advantage
    • Understanding of the technical requirements and challenges of (at least) two vertical markets from the following list: Education, Healthcare, Retail, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Transportation and Logistics
    • Results driven, strategic thinker, financial acumen
    • Demonstrable degree of initiative
    • Ability to prioritise; be nimble and adaptable
    • Advanced MS office skills for PowerPoint and Excel required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills
    • A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent
    • Vertical markets solutions planning, implementation and operational background is preferred
    • Strong customer facing Pre-Sales engineering experience required
    • Commercial awareness is essential
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers

     

     

    Other:

    • UK wide travel is a key part of the role, as is occasional travel to EMEA
