  • Overview

    The main responsibility of the hardware asset manager is to administer hardware assets (enterprise scanners, mobile computers, tablets, printers etc.), throughout their life cycle. This includes planning the changes in hardware infrastructure and implementing processes that would facilitate controlling asset acquisition, maintenance, and retirement. The hardware asset manager is also responsible for reconciling hardware inventory with IT assets data managed by financial tools in the company. In order to control and verify the accuracy of the hardware asset portfolio, the manager initiates internal hardware audits.


    • Management of the entire life-cycle (commissioning, operating, maintaining, repairing, modifying, replacing and decommissioning/disposal) of physical and infrastructure assets.
    • Responsibility to manage/coordinate the day to day running assets of given accounts in line with schedule and Statement of Work
    • Cooperation/developing and maintaining a project plan where needed, reporting, and documentation required for Asset management for given accounts
    • Management/placing of new orders for HW based on 3rd party expansion asks and hand off to Professional services for implementation/deployment planning
    • Work collaboratively with and report to the asset management team and senior executives.
    • Asset inventory management, working with end customer to reconcile Serial numbers under contract conditions using reports from Zebra Point of Sale as well as customer MDM tool and asset management tools.
    • Work with contracts department to ensure accurate Serial numbers are maintained for monthly billing
    • Create and maintain a segregated database of customer units under construction, units in service/spare as well as any asset loss/shrink
    • Share monthly asset files with finance team for appropriate depreciation management for product managers
    • Send monthly reports for billing on assets lost/damaged to Invoicing and Contracts departments and to CEM (Customer Engagement manager)
    • Maintain financial reports
    • Foster and maintain positive client relationships
    • Assess the client’s current asset status, their future needs, and investment goals
    • Assess and manage risks associated with current assets
    • Work to maximize returns and minimize losses on assets and investments
    • Analyze and evaluate HW portfolio progress and enact necessary changes


    • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
    • Preferred Work Experience: +3 years successful asset management or IT or Project management experience
    • Key Skills and Competencies: 
      • Excellent project management skills
        Financial acumen, comfortable to work with financial data
      • Advanced analytical skills, can provide valuable feedback and inputs for data collection
      • Advanced communication and presentation skills, skilled negotiator
      • The candidate should be highly conversant with the Microsoft Office range of applications including, but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Power-Point.
      • Excellent English language (both written and spoken), another language is a plus
      • Extremely organized and detail-oriented results driven
      • Professional work attitude, flexible when it comes to a change
      • Ability to build an excellent relationship with customers and vendors
      • Formal management training preferred
