    Residing within the EMEA Technical Solutions Group (TSG), this is a new role akin to an Enterprise Architect role within an Integrator business. The role will focus on a small number (initially 1) of strategic Retail customers to create a strong partnership with the customer’s own Enterprise Architecture function. As Zebra introduces more complex Solutions incorporating software and services in addition to hardware, we need Technical Pre-Sales Professionals that can embed themselves within customer’s operations, generating a deep understanding of the customer’s systems, infrastructure, applications, processes and people enabling true Pre-Sales Consultancy. Our Technical Solutions Group team members are commercially aware, customer facing professionals who partner with our Account Managers to drive brand preference for Zebra's technology solutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with Account Managers to plan and execute the overall account strategy
    • Build an extensive network of trusted working relationships at all levels and across key functions within the customer organization(s)
    • Represent the Zebra Executive Technical Vision within the account(s), understand the complexity of the customers changing environment and apply Zebra Solutions and Services for business benefit
    • Drive the adoption of Intelligent Edge Solutions within the account(s) through initial positioning into pilot and onward to securing a full deployment, including handover ramp with PS delivery
    • Coordinate with the customer to align on a joint technology strategy and roadmap of activities
    • Coordinate all technical sales activities related to the account(s)
    • Coordinate the technical aspects of all relationships with Partners working on the account(s)
    • Deliver high-impact in-depth and high-level presentations
    • Proactively plan to prevent post sales issues that lead to decline in customer satisfaction and delays of successive phases of a project – act as the custodian of customer satisfaction within the account(s)

    Qualifications

    • Strong experience of the UK retail market and operational workflows within retail
    • Demonstrable Enterprise Architect skill-set, British Computer Society (BCS) and/or TOGAF 9 certification or equivalent
    • Experience of complex change management and, ideally, large scale business transformation projects (e.g. ERP migration/implementation)
    • Proven track record of senior level (CIO, CIO-1) customer interaction and trusted relationships
    • Ability to articulate complex technical solutions clearly to various management levels 
    • Awareness of the technical principles associated with mobile computers, RFID devices, scanners, wireless networking infrastructure, wired networking infrastructure, printers and barcode scanners is desired.  Software development experience on Android or Windows CE/Windows Mobile is a plus.  Working knowledge of VMWare, servers, network infrastructure, wired protocols and wireless protocols is a plus.
    • Experience/certification in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE 2) and/or Service Management (e.g. ITIL) desirable
    • A demonstrable understanding of the Full Lifecycle Management associated with complex IT projects.
    • The position requires a proactive team player with positive attitude, high energy level, and ability to establish rapport and build relationships across internal and external organizations
