  • Overview

    Repair Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible to work with sales, service teams and customers to implement processes and systems to support custom configuration (commissioning) of mobile computers, scanners, printers in the repair depots. This will include but not limited to supporting the creation of procedures and oversee the set-up of servers, applications, networks to support the configuration of devices in repair depots to ensure flawless configuration of devices before they are returned to customers. In addition, provide support for the introduction of test systems and test software into the repairs depots.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the introduction of custom configuration processes and systems for contracted customers into NA repair depots. Includes acquiring software, defining hardware requirements and supporting documents.
    • Work with sales, services teams and customers to review in detail technical requirements for the implementation of custom configuration for mobile computers, data capture devices and printers.
    • Work with IT and repair engineering teams to set-up infrastructure (servers, databases, file shares, network, software) to support the custom configuration of Zebra devices in repair depot locations in NA
    • Create processes and manage the validation of the custom configuration for devices working directly with customer to get formal approval that the process is correct and ready to move to production.
    • Set-up and install OS, programs and configure custom settings to mobile computers running Android, WinCE or Windows with full understanding of applications and methods to perform this task.
    • Support the set-up of test system servers, database and software in repair depots
    • Ability to create custom programs when needed to support and automate configuration processes.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements with the goal of increased quality, increased throughput and reduction in labor costs required to configure devices.
    • Provide ongoing support of the installed systems to the repair depots and customers. This includes system issues, customer reported confguration issues, system and process updates.

    Qualifications

    Preferred Education:

    Bachelor’s degree.  Computer Science, Information Technology or similar engineering degree

     

    Preferred Work Experience (years): 3-5 years

     

    Key Skills and Competencies:

    • Must be proficient in the use of: MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point
    • Networking Experience
    • Database experience (MC SQL Server, Oracle)
    • Virtualization Technology i.e. VM Ware
    • Experience with process auditing
    • Programming Experience (C++, C#, Java)
    • Experience with Mobile Device Management Technology (MDM) I.E SOTI, AirWatch, Zebra StageNow
    • PC, Server Setup Experience
    • Experience with Android, Windows Mobile and Windows OS.
